After much consideration, our current Superintendent, Dr. Kelvin Butts, has chosen not to renew his contract and will conclude his time as Superintendent of Benton Harbor Area Schools on June 30, 2025. He has made this decision after thoughtful reflection and believes it is the right time to take the next step in his journey.

The Benton Harbor Area Schools Board of Education appreciates Superintendent Dr. Kelvin Butts for his leadership and contributions to the district during his tenure. We acknowledge the progress made under his guidance and wish him the best in his future professional endeavors.
